Instructions and materials will be provided. The lab is open to both crochet beginners and experts.

Im_flieger LANDEBAHN is curated by Verena Herterich.

In a textile plant laboratory, we want to grow together and talk about the time it takes. Visitors and passers-by are invited to become part of the laboratory for a while, to see themselves as part of a temporary biotope that exchanges ideas about growing. All participants will crochet plants together, which will grow longer and longer the longer the lab is open.

Time is an invisible component of our lives. We notice the sun passing and try to measure it with precise clocks, but we realize it most directly in growth processes. Suddenly the small seed has become a beautiful flower, while we barely notice the continuous changes in our everyday lives.

With Zeit pflanzen, we want to bring these processes to life and reflect on the topic of growth while crocheting textile plants together.
Where and how do we take root?
How much time and what conditions does something need to grow?
How do we learn new things – both individually and as a society?

These and other questions can be discussed in dialogue with each other. Handicrafts are not only an expression of these growth processes, but also indirectly promote communication. This is because the focus is not on dialogue but on doing things with your hands. Handicraft is a time-consuming activity – and therefore a suitable form of social exchange.

Zeit pflanzen is not a rigid workshop, but an open format: everyone can come and go, watch, crochet a few stitches or create entire plants. This afternoon is a time to slow down – the result is open.If you like, you can take your little plant with you – or leave it on site, where it will continue to grow as part of this small installation.
